21 Days of Prayer and Purpose

Day 15

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Rejoice means... to take delight in something... To enjoy and not fret and worry over that something. As the writer encouraged the church in the beginning we must receive the same encouragement today. Our ability to draw lines of boundaries and points of separation because of the delight we have in that something. From that attitude and understanding we can live our lives according to the joy that God has for each of us.

As Paul wrote the position of delighting in the Lord he also makes certain to remind the reader to PRAY! In everything pray. All things deserve to be prayed over. In the prayer comes the knowledge that the Lord heard you and He is mindful of the situation and the need. Giving thanks for that assurance helps us to grasp what God really has for the believer.

He will keep our hearts from the stuff that can easily separate us from His plan and can also strengthen us for the journey ahead. In everything we can pray and give thanks to God. For all of life’s choices and all of life’s ups and downs we are encouraged to let Gods peace settle over us. CAC we must learn the power of the delighting in His plan for us. He has brought us a mighty long way and He will see us through till the end!
