21 Days of Dedication

21 Days of Dedication

Day #9

Scripture:
1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Point:
A young preacher with so much to learn and even more to become… receives a letter from his mentor and dear Freon director. Paul writes to Timothy in an attempt to help him in his development and growth in following Gods plan for his life. Timothy no doubt had felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders as the working in the assembly had placed him in the midst of such problems and such issues as only humanity can bring.

To the young learner Paul writes… “First of all…. PRAY”! As we are discovering in our generation in such a powerful way, this advice is paramount. Supplications is a term we no longer use but it simply indicates a pleading with humility and submission. So it is that the elder in the gospel admonishes the younger to humbly come before the Lord and pray in a way that will get heavens attention. Paul tells Timothy to give thanks as he prays and to also allow the communication between man and heaven to be powerful and earnest enough to move the heart of a king.

There is that much power in a prayer. So let us pray… first. Believe always. Trust Gods plan. We must decide in our time of dedication that we will humbly spend time searching and looking for Jesus to move on our behalf. Once again, write it down. Take notes as God speaks. Expect great things when you pray!
