21 Days of Dedication

21 Days of Dedication

Day #15

Scripture:
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities:
The chastisement of our peace was upon him;
And with his stripes we are healed.

Point:

An old prophet felt so passionate about the voice of the Spirit of God speaking to him concerning an event that would not actually take shape for some 700 years. Isaiah of course as we know him, was the one that announced so long ago about the birth of a man child that would realign all of history. I am sure that the prophet was simply following the unction of Gods Spirit as he wrote… but can you imagine his heart and mind as he penned the words?

One man that would endure beatings and mockeries like no other man would ever face. Yet that one single man would be wounded for the violations of the laws of God that mankind would accomplish. Also that one man would receive beatings that would overshadow humanities sins against Gods laws. Each stripe that was laid on his body would be received with all concern about the peace that humanity would need concerning their salvation.

The final portion of this scripture we read today… “with His stripes we are healed”. Oh what a savior we serve! I know that many times we hurt and we struggle with life’s simple and complex problems. Sickness of body and mind. Pains and hurts of relationships. Whatever makes us feel out of sorts. Yet the old prophets words should bring joy to all of us. Jesus would come and endure all that he did… for you and for me… for all of humanity. Write your gratitude today for the perfect plan that God designed for our salvation. Let your journal be the medium for letting Jesus know how thankful you really are.
